Good afternoon y'all and welcome to Spoonie Sunday! Hope everyone is having a great Sunday. We actually are getting a break from the crazy weather Colorado has had the past few weeks but then we have another chance this week. I mean I love snow but my body is definitely feeling it lately. Here's a peek at it
I know for me weather can play a big role in how my body feels. For me, Fibromyalgia affects my nerves, muscles and bones so anytime the pressure changes or we have big temperature dips my body starts screaming. The good thing is it never sticks around very long here and when you get 300 plus days of sunshine a year, it's worth the few times a year we get snow.
Dealing with chronic pain is never easy but at the same time I can't let it consume every aspect of my life. If I do that I won't be living my life. I would be sitting at home watching it pass by and that has never been an option for me.
“God never said that the journey would be easy, but He did say that the arrival would be worthwhile” Max Lucado
I love that quote! Nothing in life is easy but it's all worth it in the end. I have two business's that I run and some days it can be a lot. There is so much to do and keep up with and making sure your posting to your social media to keep your customers/friends/family engaged and coming back to see what your up to. It can be overwhelming sometimes. I have to remember though that it will all pay off in the end.
For me having a outlet to keep your mind off the pain is great. Not only do I have two business's but I love to read, mediate, do yoga and do a little hiking. What do y'all do for fun?
Right now I am half way through A Is For Alibi by Sue Grafton and I just finished Innocent in Las Vegas by A.R. Winters. If you love a strong and funny female lead you should definitely give this book a try! I'm also in the process of reading Secrets and Stilettos by Gina LaManna.
I absolutely love Gina's books. The first one I read was Sprinkled: A Lazey Luzzi Mystery and I was hooked. If you can't tell humor and mystery are my favorites to read and if they are combined it's even better! What books are y'all reading right now? Do you have a favorite author? I would love any suggestions!
Taking the time to do yoga and meditate each morning has definitely helped grow my relationship with God. It's the time where I just talk to him and let it all go.
Jesus replied “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” John 13:7
I think for me that's hard sometimes because I have two business's that I need to do well. So for me I realized that by spending time talking to God each morning that I spent less time worrying and being frustrated throughout the day. It's hard to let things take time when we live in a world where you can get most things at the drop of a hat. It can seem like someone in your shoes is taking off overnight and in reality that's not the case. It takes years to establish yourself in any business. We have to remember to be gentle on ourselves and take the good with the bad. We have to remember to breath and let things happen in God's time.
So as we go throughout this week let's remember to be kind and gentle not just to ourselves but everyone around us. You don't know what someone else is going through and this world is harsh enough without us playing judge and jury on people. We should be lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down.
Go out and be creative friends and enjoy your week! As always if you have any book suggestions please leave them in the comments!
Megan
